Ashe: Emusoi Centre’s Impact 2025

In 2025, Emusoi Centre continued its mission of providing education and a safe, supportive place for pastoralist and hunter-gatherer girls—especially those at risk of early marriage, cultural marginalization, and poverty. What started with only six students in 1999, has now grown to more than 2,000 girls who have passed through secondary school, vocational training, college, and university with Emusoi’s support.

This year brought both progress and challenges. Many girls continued to succeed in their studies, but we also faced financial challenges due to reduced donor support, unstable tourism income, ongoing drought, and the displacement of many pastoralist families. Even with these challenges, our centre remained firm in its mission to ensure that girls have access to safe shelter, education, guidance, and hope.
